If you are not on this list it does not mean that you haven’t been cast. These are just those that our production team needs to see again for the parts listed. A final cast list will be released after callbacks are complete.

Also, come prepared with:
  • All actors should prepare 16-32 bars of a musical theater genre song that demonstrates your singing ability. An accompanist will be provided. Please bring sheet music for your accompaniment; no a capella auditions. Auditioners will sing, perform a cold reading, learn and perform a dance sequence - please come dressed to move.

​Shrek Jr The Musical is now available. Cast ages 5-18.
Please note the times for the specific age groups listed below.

Audition Dates:
Tuesday, Nov. 9th & Wednesday, Nov. 10th
K-6th: 6:30pm-7:30pm
7th grade & up: 7:30pm-8:30pm

All auditions held at Wylie School Cafeteria

Also, come prepared with:
  • Please prepare a 16 bar cut of any song that comfortably shows vocal range. Provide sheet music, clearly marked (start and stop), for the accompanist.
  • ​Dress for movement for the dance part of the audition and callbacks.

Show Dates: January 28-30, 2022 @ Jane Tesch Theater, Pinckney, MI

Show Rehearsals: Will take place on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays. Not all characters will be required to be at all rehearsals.
A detailed schedule will be provided during the first week of rehearsals. 
Covid Restrictions: All cast members and production staff members must show proof of vaccination if currently eligible.
​Those not currently eligible must commit to receiving vaccination and showing proof upon eligibility. Masks will be worn during rehearsals.

Minimum age for audition is 12 years old.

Calling all DCP members! You are invited to our annual meeting.

In addition to fun and conversation we will be discussing the upcoming season and electing a new board. All people who have participated in an DCP show in any capacity over the last 5 years are considered members. All members 14+ are allowed to vote for the board positions. All members 18+ are allowed to run for a board seat. All board positions are up for election every year. If you would like to be considered for a board position please send your name, email and a short description of yourself and why you would be an asset to the DCP board, to the DCP email address (board@dextercommunityplayers.com).
Hope to see you all there. Food and drinks will be provided! The meeting will be held outside on the patio.

The Great American Trailer Park Musical is a two-act musical, written by David Nehls and Betsy Kelso. It explores the relationship between the tenants at the Armadillo Acres Trailer Park in Starke, Florida, particularly between Pippi, "the stripper on the run," the Dr. Phil-loving agoraphobic, Jeannie, and Jeannie's tollbooth-collector husband, Norbert - the storms begin to brew. The Great American Trailer Park Musical was performed in the first annual New York Music Theater Festival in 2004 and Off-Broadway in 2005. Join Dexter Community Players in this hilarious romp through northern Florida's most exclusive manufactured housing community. Cash bar available at all showings (Beer, wine and a signature cocktail!)
